The workshop environment guides students in characterization, script analysis, improvisation, set design, and playwriting.
Students in this course must be self-motivated to learn lines and blocking, conduct research, and compare and integrate other art forms. Students are required to undertake duties in the technical and business elements of theatre production.
There will be assorted daily activities designed to develop vocal flexibility, script analysis, enhanced characterization and physicality, and collaboration (both in process and in product).
There will be quizzes on terminology of the trade, principles and methodologies of acting, duties of production, etc. The major summative assessments will be student performance and production, as well as the composition of an original one-act play.
